We live in Las Vegas, but I grew up in the country so it is very important to me that my kids get out and enjoy nature. We often take friends with kids.

We take walks around our apartment complex looking for birds and bugs. We go to different parks- walk first then playground. We also try to visit places like Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, Mt. Charleston, and the Wetlands Park.

There's plenty of nature to be found, even in the city, if you look for it. Once we even stopped along a busy road to watch a bee on a flower.

Do you have any specific ideas of how to get a 2 year old and 9 month old involved in nature? What you can do with them and be safe and that wouldn't mess up any nap times :) Sometimes I run out of ideas.
