Family Outing - The Hunter Family

August 11th, 2009

Nature For Kids would like to share with you the inspiring Family Outing adventures that the Hunter Family of Arizona had this summer.

This is the second summer that Holly has taken her two boys, Sammy and Jack, on a road trip.  After 6 weeks and 5,800 miles chalked up on their minivan they stood on top of peaks, under mammoth arches and walked amongst historic trees.

They began their adventures by heading over the Hoover Dam and on to the Sequoia National Monument. Then it was on to Yosemite for some camping and exploring. Monterey Bay was their next stop with some more camping at Sunset Beach. Then Coastal Highway1 took them to San Francisco. After that they visited Lake Tahoe, Salt Lake City and then eventually Moab where they explored Canyonlands and Arches National Park. Their adventures didn’t stop there. In pursuit of family and friends they then went to Colorado and on to Kansas.

”It was truly the most memorable trip I’ve ever been on and I know the kids feel the same”, Holly recalls. Just take a look at these great pictures and you’ll see why!

Just like Nature For Kids Holly hopes to encourage parents to get out of the house with their kids. Three years ago she started a website called AZ Active Kids. Its focus is on those in the Phoenix Metro area.  Through her site she has arranged group family campouts that have been very successful. She also has a personal blog Adventurous AZ Mom where she talks about her outdoor adventures with her boys. I encourage you to take a look at both of them!

Here’s a big thanks to Holly for sharing their outdoor adventures with us and if there is anyone else out there wanting to do the same just email me shawna@natureforkids.net.

This is a great site that you have here. I have a sports blog myself and I would like to exchange links with you. Let me know if this is possible. Jason
