I was sent a Columbia jacket to field test a couple months ago. It’s called the women’s Heat Elite jacket. I’m always a fan of field testing recreation apparel or equipment but I don’t always share the experience here at Nature For Kids. I thought this needed to be passed on to all of you because this stuff is genius and they make very similar items for the little people in our lives.
This jacket is made with Omni-Heat thermal reflective technology! Translation -the little silver dots inside the jacket reflect your body heat, keeping you 20% warmer.

What’s cool is that in-between all those little dots is a different type of material that wicks away moisture and excess heat during rigorous activities…say hiking up a sledding hill after taking a killer ride down on a toboggan. Take a look below.
Pretty much you stay warm when you want to stay warm and stay dry when you want to stay dry. The jacket is contoured nicely for women and the technology of the jacket keeps it functional without adding bulk. I mean really who wants bulk…you want to move baby! You can take a closer look at the jacket here and read reviews.
Besides the Omni-Heat thermal reflective gear there’s also Omni-Heat thermal insulation gear. It doesn’t have the dots but it does keep you nice and toasty. Columbia has a whole kids line made with both technologies, coats, gloves, boots and hats. When my kids get cold outside they get grouchy and end up missing out on some fun. And who wants their kiddlets freezing! I don’t want to bother with either. I’m seriously going to look into getting my hands on this stuff for my own kids.

Well I hope you found this useful. Look for the reflective dots the next time you’re out shopping and remember you heard it here first!

Shawna, I love the video! You’re so pretty, Boogs. you guys are awesome. I thought for a while that one of your kids was filming you, but it sounds like it was Damon. Maybe instead of snowboard lesson videos, you guys should make video lesson videos
.
Love ya!
Do they make those in xxxlarge sizes??? I hate getting cold and that sounds like the perfect keep warm gear!
Hahahaha thanks Bec! I’ll pass that on to Damon.
