Unstructured Play and Sanuk Love

Here’s a video of our day at the local lake. Snakes and dogs show up for the fun. While there Damon and I realize as parents we sometimes get in the way of the kids’ unstructured playtime and Kronk gives you a rundown on his new shoes called Sanuks …

Well although our sand castle idea didn’t work, the kids, as you can see, had no problem creating their own fun. I’m always curious to see what they come up with and it never seems to disappoint. And as usual they were totally immersed in their experience.

Now as for Kronk’s Sanuks… I’m in LOVE. After he got his in the mail it was only days before I went out and got a pair of my own!

They are, how do I say this, the relaxed mans shoe. Although the makers would argue that they’re not shoes at all but sandals.  You don’t have to wear socks with them and they’re antimicrobial so they won’t start to stink. The base is built just like a sandal and the fabric is hand sewn on.

Here’s another reason why I luuurrrv Sanuks. As a mom I get impatient when we’re heading out the door and my kids are struggling to get their shoes on for 5 minutes. They can put these on in a jiffy with the easy velcro tab closure.

Oh and I’ve thrown ours in the wash a couple times already and they come out looking good as new.
